Snow Day 2

Well, it's over. The beast of a blizzard has gone on to attack some other village. But we spent the day ignoring the howling wind that was displacing whatever wasn't frozen solid to the ground having a good time. Today, I played the Game of Life five times. I played Memory 4 times. I lost every time.

X-man and I took a large cardboard box and began to turn it into a race car. He painted the number 12 on both sides and then I glued on some cardboard wheels. He loved to paint them. We'll see if we have further race car ideas tomorrow.

While he was waiting for his interior to dry, X-man decided he wanted to try the air drying clay that I bought at Wal-mart. So we designed some items. I made a dog (in case you had a hard time figuring it out). X-man made a "Mommy cinnamon roll" and a "X-man cinnamon roll." Now he's waiting patiently for two naps (what he calls sleep) to pass so he can paint them with the new paints I bought.

After the clay, he decided to help me put together an Ikea lamp I bought three weeks ago, but haven't had time to put together. Well, mostly, he sat on the rug in the Loosey room and tried to give the shag a haircut. He only got one clip before I noticed and intervened.

So, for those Ikea lovers out there. Here is my new floor lamp.

I have one more storage item to put together for the basement bathroom. It takes two people, so we'll see if MacTroll is up for helping me after he gets off the phone with his parents. I also finally chose a full-sized daybed for the basement room. So it's a pseudo couch, but can handle guests if we have overflow. :-)

This all happened before lunch. After lunch (macaroni and cheese for the little man with applesauce and carrot sticks), we pawned him off on SuperShanna while MacTroll and I went out and used our metal garden shovels to crack one solid lane of ice from our garage to the street. It took us both an hour, and then we spent 40 minutes trying to get an area cleared behind the truck across the street.

Afterward there was plenty of laundry to get to, as X-man had an accident last night that went everywhere. There were cat boxes to scoop, and I think I'm going to end up calling the vet tomorrow about Riley's nose. He got into it when we were gone with a cat, and he keeps licking his nose, so it keeps rubbing the scab off and swelling. Poor puppy.

Hark, did I just hear my son playing with his scuba divers refer to one of them as the "B" word? Mmmm.

One thing is for sure, he's acting out his shark fears between his sea creatures and his scuba divers up there. I wonder if the mean shark is dropping the B word to the female scuba diver. More investigation is required...

Eek! You're so brave. I can't do paint like that. But X looks entertained.

And this morning, Bubba was playing with two Vikings and I SWEAR he said, "You're going to be my bitch," but when I asked him to repeat, he said, "You're going to be my best." Those two words don't sound alike. :P

LOL, Did you not notice the giant drop cloth?

The other day I picked up X-man from school and he was singing a song that went, "Crappity, crap, crap, crap."

Great. Wonderful. Mother of the year pre-school year award goes to--not me.
