Grumble, grumble

Today I'm cleaning my kitchen floor. Every time we stay home and eat and cook, it requires almost daily maintenance to keep socks clean or shit from sticking to the bottom of our feet. Hence is the life with a crazy messy toddler and a crazy messy man.

But it made me wonder if I was the only one with this sitcho... let me know -- poll to the right.

I picked once a week, but I only count the full on sweeping mopping cleaning thing I do, not the daily wiping of spills and so forth. Also, there wasn't an option for "once a week but my lazy really hsould do it more often" or I would have picked that :)

I picked once a month, but our linoleum is o.l.d. (probably original to the house--think '70s brown and orange *interesting* print...) and hides toddler/man spills very well. I vacuum/sweep at *least* once a day and usually wipe up any gooey messes with a wet washcloth/floor towel after each meal. After being sick for a couple of days, I was literally disgusted by the state of our kitchen floor (heck, the whole house...) and went on a cleaning rampage at 11 p.m. last night after everyone else was in bed. But I left the bathrooms for David. Because that is a whole other issue.

Some crazy childless woman put white linoleum in my kitchen. It looks clean for about five minutes. That's it. I do serious scrubbing once a month, but quick mops about twice a week...except when I don't.

It's hard to tell if our floor is dirty unless you get real close or there are crumbs on it. I think that's the reason I don't clean it enough. I do, however, always scrub it prior to company coming over -- I don't want you all to think I don't care about your kids!

I normally vacuum the floor a few times a week but I only mop every other week...unless there's obvious messes, of course.

Toddlers are just dirty creatures - and the husband is just oblivious to it all.

Do you people not have a dog??? Our dog takes care of any spills...other than that, I usually do a once a month dry swiffer followed by wet swiffer dance over the kitchen floors and call it good....lol...

We do have a dog. But the dog does not eat banana, jello or rice. But crackers and cheese are not a problem. :-)

Picky dog;) Mine will eat foil if you let him...he's not going to turn down actual food if it's accessible and allowed...lol..
