Today, we went to a 1st birthday party. Our friends from California were in town visiting parents and we got invited to celebrate their son Arthur's first birthday. Arthur's first birthday cupcake wasn't something I had seen before. Apparently, they're from Stone Cold Creamery, so they're ice cream formed over cake and set in a chilled chocolate holder. So the whole thing is completely edible. You can see X-man's pink one on the plate and the other six packs (how they're sold) in the background.
Never mind the one in his hand. It was ceramic with an LED candle in it. He was obsessed with turning on the candle, singing happy birthday and then turning it off. :-)

How where they? We saw them when we where in there about a week back, but I can only imagine how they taste.

I saw those at ColdStone when we were on campus at the Apple store. They looked delish and I was thinking about getting them for MT's party next month.
Joel thought they were a nice change of pace from the usual cupcake. I didn't get to eat one, but both the 4 year olds and the birthday boy enjoyed them. X-man was pretty full on pizza. The girls at them without spoons, but X-man preferred to spoon at his. He didn't see to be able to wrap his mind around the idea that there was cake in it at all.
